Privacy policy
Last updated: September 22, 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you message us on WhatsApp, what we use it for, who we share it with and how you can ask us to erase it. It covers the Jimmy Accesorios WhatsApp Business channel and this website.
1. Who we are
Jimmy Accesorios (hereinafter “we”) is an accessories trading and import business that serves its customers and suppliers over WhatsApp, and is the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
2. What data we process
We only process what arrives through the conversation. We do not buy databases and we do not track you outside WhatsApp.
- Your phone number and the profile name WhatsApp shows us.
- The content of your messages: text, voice notes, photos, PDFs and spreadsheets you send us.
- The commercial details you choose to share: product, quantities, target price, incoterm, destination, timeline, company and contact details.
- Technical metadata: date and time of each message, message identifier, detected language and delivery status.
We do not ask for identity documents, banking details or sensitive data (health, ethnic origin, beliefs, union or political affiliation). If you send them on your own initiative, we delete them.
3. What we use it for
- To answer your enquiry and understand what you need.
- To translate the conversation in both directions, so you can write in your own language even if the team serving you speaks another one.
- To transcribe voice notes and read the files you send, so we can respond to them.
- To hand the conversation over to a human agent when the case calls for it.
- To keep a record of what was discussed: quantities, prices and agreed terms.
- To meet legal, accounting and tax obligations if we end up doing business.
4. Automated assistant and artificial intelligence
The first reply you receive is generated by an automated assistant. You can ask to speak to a person at any point and the team will take over.
We use third-party artificial intelligence models to understand, transcribe and translate your messages. Those messages are not used to train models: they are processed to handle your conversation and nothing else. We always keep the original text alongside the translation, so that neither side has to rely on a translated version if a discrepancy comes up later.
Machine translation can get things wrong. Trade terms (MOQ, FOB, EXW, CIF, HS code, OEM, ODM) are left exactly as written, untranslated, precisely so the agreement is not altered. Before committing to anything, confirm it with a member of the team.
5. Legal basis and consent
We process your data with your consent, which you give by starting the conversation on WhatsApp knowing it is a Jimmy Accesorios support channel, and in order to perform or prepare the contract you are asking for. Where applicable, also to meet a legal obligation. This is governed by Colombian Law 1581 of 2012 and Decree 1377 of 2013. You may withdraw your consent at any time (see section 10).
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not pass it on for advertising. The following providers process it on our behalf, strictly so the service can work:
- Meta Platforms — WhatsApp Business Platform: the channel messages travel through. Meta processes your data under its own privacy policy.
- Google — AI models that transcribe, understand and translate the messages.
- Cloudflare — infrastructure running the service and hosting this page.
- Chatwoot — the inbox where our agents read and answer conversations.
- Authorities — only where a valid judicial or administrative order compels us.
7. International transfers
The providers above run servers outside Colombia, mainly in the United States and the European Union. By using this channel you accept that your data is processed in those countries under each provider's data processing agreement.
8. How long we keep it
- Conversations: up to 24 months from the last message, so we can pick up the thread and settle any claim about what was agreed.
- Files and voice notes: up to 12 months.
- Records of closed transactions: for as long as Colombian accounting and tax law requires.
Once the period is over, data is deleted or anonymised.
9. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Access to conversations is limited to the staff who run the channel, with individual credentials. This page runs no JavaScript, sets no cookies and carries no analytics or tracking pixels.
10. Your rights
You may ask us, free of charge and without giving a reason, to know what data we hold about you, update it, correct it, delete it, withdraw your consent, and to file complaints with the Colombian Superintendence of Industry and Commerce.
The channel to exercise any of these rights is the same WhatsApp number we serve you from. Message us there and a member of our team will reply.
We answer enquiries within ten (10) business days and complaints within fifteen (15) business days of receiving the request.
To erase your data, the step by step is on Data deletion.
11. Minors
This is a commercial channel intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we find that a record belongs to a minor, we delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change anything, we update the date in the header and publish the new version at this same address. Substantive changes are announced through the same WhatsApp channel.
